Re: Big differences in backtesting USDJPY MT4
Hi Rra1974, While we can't provide advice on your specific EA, we can offer some general tips to help trouble-shoot the problem. First up, do note that all EAs will be affected to a degree by any change in input data, especially if your EA is particularly sensitive to such changes (scalping strategi...

Re: Can i delete the exported data?
Hi Roadrigoes,
If you are not doing any back-testing with the MT4 Strategy Tester then yes, you can delete the FXT files. It will not affect the exported chart data (.HST) in MT4.
Thanks.

Re: tickstory backtesting results are the opposite with broker data
Hi Tickwaiting, i decide to backtest based on broker data, but the question is broker data enough? in other words do i need tickstory tick data knowing broker provide tick data. Historical broker data is usually not as complete as the data provided by Tickstory. That is, it could contain gaps or mis...

Re: tickstory backtesting results are the opposite with broker data
Hi Tickwaiting, There could be many areas where your transition could have differences. For example, was the EA converted from MT4 to MT5 completely and correctly? Are the settings the same in both terminals (starting equity, instrument digits, etc)? Did you test with fixed spread on MT4 versus vari...

Re: Support for artificial intelligence to make it more attractive
Hi Islamraslan, Where possible, Tickstory tries to augment the existing functionality of Metatrader. If the functionality is significantly different, it would make more sense to build our own back-tester to have full control of the functionality we could provide. At the moment, Metatrader does provi...

Re: MT4 Strategy Not working
Hi Joez, The "FXT is read-only" message is expected and a warning, not an error. If an EA is not trading, it usually just means that the EA's trading criteria has not been met for some reason. You can refer to this item in our FAQ for some general trouble-shooting tips to help resolve the issue. Hop...

Re: backtest for long period not work
Hi Lucratioz, It could be that you are running across a limitation where MT4 or your EA cannot handle the amount of tick data involved in a large date range. As such, you should try reduce the size of your exported data. Previously, there was a 4GB FXT limitation in MT4, so you might try keeping you...

Re: MT4 Strategy Not working
Hi Joez, Looking at the screenshots, are you sure your begin/end date range matches the date range you exported? It looks like you have exported April-July 2023 but are trying to test from August. I would uncheck the begin/end dates first just to make sure you are getting results and work from there...

Re: Add new export data feature option to detect dishonest EAs
Thanks, Nauris. I think we're on the same page, except as I figure, the date-shift doesn't play any part in this particular example because you should get the same result with and without shifting the date. In any case, I can see the potential for a price shift function to be of use in this case and...
