Are fxt files needed for backtesting EA with multi timeframe filters?

Post by sqt001 »

Hi,

When I test an EA in H1 cycle, do I need to download the fxt files of day period and week period? The EA works at H1 cycle but with the filters of day moving average and week moveing average.

Thanks and Best Wishes,

Hi Sqt001,

If you don't require to test with tick data, then you don't need to export the FXT files. When you back-test, Metatrader will automatically create an interpolated FXT file from the chart (HST) data.

Hope this helps.
