GOLD spread

Post by drofwarc »

Hi,

I'm backtesting GOLD and want to confirm that, to run a test with a 30-pip spread, I should set the spread in the FXT file to 300 (points).

Thanks in advance,
drofwarc

PS - Amazing to you've developed. Many thanks for sharing!

Hi Drofwarc,

Thanks for your feedback. The value you set in the 'Spread' box is dependent on whether your broker uses fractional digits. For Gold, this means that if you have 3 Digits then yes, you will need to specify '300' to indicate a spread of 30. Note that Tickstory automatically displays the actual spread value in blue to the side of the 'Spread' box. The spread that is displayed here takes into account all of the above.

Hope this helps.

That's what I suspected but just wanted to make sure.

By the way, in my initial post I meant to write "Amazing TOOL you've developed. Many thanks for sharing!"

kind regards,
