I am using 1.8.5 and for the first time. i need to export some data to a file.. so that i can run it on Forextester2

No matter what pair.. what time frame etc...how many days of data.. it doesnt do anything

as soon as i press go at the end of the process... i get the little red ( stop processing) button.. telling me that it is going... but i have left it for hours.. processing as little as a weeks 1m data .. and there is nothing in the output folder.. and the little red symbol never finishes?

any ideas what needs to happen to get this to work?

Hi Deepsix,

Are you getting any status information beside the instrument you are downloading? Were you using previous versions of Tickstory successfully? Could you please give us some more information about what symbol you are exporting (including a screenshot of youe export settings), your PC operating system and any other useful information so we can see if we can replicate the issue on our side?

Thanks.

So i am trying to export 1 yrs worth of 1m data to an external HD

according to the expanded view.. the program is trying to store it in the C drive

but i have the store settings as the external H drive.. and have verified this by downloading some more data.. it went to the H drive no problems

Hi Deepsix,

Thanks for the screenshots, they are very helpful. As I can see, you have not specified an absolute pathname in your "Export Settings" window (screenshot #1). You need to specify an "Output Filename" like H:\Data\{Symbol}.csv which will explicitly write the file to your nominated folder on your external drive. The "Dukascopy data store" settings (screenshot #3) is where Tickstory stores all the tick data from Dukascopy so it does not need to download it again from the internet.

Hope this helps.
