Speed of file generation (was: Performance)

Hi Support,

TickStory could do with some kind of database file. If you download a year's worth of data, then try to download the same data again, this takes a considerable time. It really should take no time at all to see if the necessary tick files have been downloaded. There seems to be a serious performance issue with this check. If you then export the data to MT4, it goes through the same check!

I want to update my HST files for about 12 pairs every week. Approximately 80% of the time this takes is unnecessary, wasted by repeated checks for data that already has been downloaded.

Best

John

Hi John,

The overhead is not in the file check but in the data unpacking and file generation - just remember that if you are generating a one year database across all time frames, this can be over 10gb. All exports are generated from the original tick data.
With this said, there is still room for optimisation and this will be added in later versions of Tickstory.

Regards.
