I am experiencing a problem that the results of the optimizer and a backtest with exactly the same settings give hugely different results. E.g. with the optimizer I had a profit of $5958 profit and running with exactly the same settings that the optimizer gave in a backtest I ony got $2413 profit. B...

Can anyone tell me if the workaround to set the correct spread applies only to backtesting - or also to optimization?
And once this has been set, can I change e,g, the currency pair or time frame and keep on testing or must I reset the spread through the workaround every time I do a new run?

What is the use of the Lite version if it can only run on old versions of MT4? All MT4's get updated automatically and the current build is 950. So there is no way to test the software before deciding to buy it!
