Hi all,
My broker is ICMarkets which based on the "EST 07:00 New York trading hours" time zone. After download the data from tickstory, I adjust timezone to 07:00 before import to my MT4.

My EA only based on 4h charts. And when I backtest using that data. My 4 hours charts is not correct the time.

The severs chart show 4h candle like: 1:00, 5:00, 9:00, 13:00, 17:00, 21:00, 1:00
The data chart backtest candle like: 0:00, 4:00, 8:00, 12:00, 16:00, 20:00, 0:00

Any one help me?

Is there any reason why you are not exporting data to MT4 directly as shown on this video? The "Export to MT4" function creates both the chart (HST) and testing (FXT) data in a few simple steps. You can also select the time-zone of the exported data.

I have already export the data to MT4 directly and choose time zone "EST 07:00 New York trading hours" . But I mean the 4 hours charts not show correct time zone like I said.

Thanks for clarifying. Could you please ensure you disconnect from your broker just in case it is back-filling/overwriting the chart data? You can disconnect from your broker by going to File->Login to Account and typing an incorrect password. After that, you will need to export your data again (make sure to restart MT4 after to see the refreshed data).

Hello. This is all the steps I have done but the 4h chart still show not correct time zone. Even though all the others 1h, 1m, ... are corrects.

Step 1 : Log out from my MT4
Step 2: Go the folder of my MT4. Delete all the history including tester folder, and history from sever.
Step 3: Export the data from tickstory with time zone 07:00 New York trading
Step 4: Open Mt4 again to login

And it still show 4h charts like : 0:00, 4:00, 8:00, 12:00, 16:00, 20:00, 0:00

What I need is 4h charts like : 1:00, 5:00, 9:00, 13:00, 17:00, 21:00, 1:00

Ah, ok. Sorry, it was misunderstood that your charts and strategy tester charts were not lining up between the two.

The behavior you are getting is expected - all the 4 hour candles are based on a start of 12am. Given that NY trading time starts at 8AM, this also should also line up. Is your broker doing something different?

That why I have to ask you, how to make the 4h chart like this. Cause my EA all based on the 4h chart

At the moment we don't support a time-shift on the 4-hour chart. They are all based on the 12, 4 & 8 hours.

We're looking at a 4hr chart from IC Markets and it shows 12, 4, 8, 12. Would you know if there some sort of special account or option that shifts this data to 1am? Is the shift applied across all dates or only during NY daylight savings (~Mar-Nov)?

I will base on another timeframe which more reliable than 4h. Cause some brokers base on 0:00, some 1:00, that will make my EA useless.
