Variable Spread when using tickstory to export to birt's TDS

Post by iwillsurvive »

Hi,

I can't seem to be able to use variable spread when backtesting with birt's TDS, after downloading the tickdata via tickstory.

Is this because:

1. the tick data downloaded from ducascopy via tickstory only has fixed spread?

2. tickstory doesn't allow variable spread to be used when exporting the tick data files to birts TDS?

Please guide me on how to use variable spread for backtesting, it provides a much more realistic backtest!

Hi Iwillsurvive,

The answer is 1) - Tickstory only exports a fixed spread for the time-being, although we do have the support for variable spread on our enhancement list. For the moment, the only way to achieve what you want is to export to File using 'CSV2FXT' format and then produce the file using Birt's scripts.

Hope this helps.
