How to import mt5 tick data into tickstory?
Re: Import MT5 tick data into tickstory
Hi There
I am trying to get my data up and running, I use a windows VPS for my MT5 EA as I use a Apple MacBook Pro, I started to download 5 years data for EURUSD, USDJPY and DAX but it stopped about 1/3 the way through and says "not enough space on the disk".
I take it that means my VPS wont take much data, is there a way around this?? Do I need to purchase windows parrallels for my MT5 backtesting ??
I think this wont be an uncommon problem
Kind Regards Mark

Re: Import MT5 tick data into tickstory (Mac)
Hi Mark,
If you have limited disk space on your VPS, the only thing that I could suggest is that you produce an export for each symbol one-by-one, import it and then delete it. Working with tick data is voluminous, so you will need some disk space to comfortably deal with it. Even once the data is imported, MT5 will still need to store it (albeit in compressed form), so you will still need space whichever platform you are running it on.
Hope this helps.
