Hi Jay,

Couple things you need to check:

- In Tickstory, go to File->Settings->MT4 Settings->Command line arguments, make sure you have the text "/skipupdate" (without the quotes). This will prevent MT4 from updating when you launch it via Tickstory.
- In MT4, go to Help->About to check that you're working on Build 910. If you haven't done the /skipupdate, it is likely that MT4 has done a quick, sneaky update back to Build 950.
- When you launch Metatrader, always do this via Tickstory. If you click on the MT4 short-cut it will again try to automatically update (unless you have also explicitly specified "/skipupdate" in the startup command-line).

Hope this gets you going.

Hi
I am so frustrated with the lack of back testing issues during the last couple of months! I have successfully rolled back MT4 to build 910, am able to open it through Tickstory, however when I try to export data to do back testing I get the below massage now.
"Error occurred during download: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Tickstory Lite\EURUSD\2015\06\07' is denied. (URL: http://www.dukascopy.com/datafeed/EURUS ... _ticks.bi5)"

I hope someone can assist with this.
thanks
theo

Hi Austheo,

Please take the time to read through our FAQ (http://www.tickstory.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=613) and also do a search through the forums if you're having issues. The "access denied" issue is covered in numerous threads and of course the FAQ.

Thanks.

Hi Reebok,

Yes sure. Follow these steps to revert back to Build 910:

1) Close your MT4 terminal if it is currently running.
2) Download terminal.exe from here: http://tickstory.com/files/Metatrader.update.910.zip
3) In your MT4 installation folder, rename the existing terminal.exe to terminal.950.exe.
4) Unpack the terminal.exe in the zip file and copy it to the MT4 Installation folder.
5) In Tickstory, put the text "/skipupdate" in the command-line parameters as shown in the screenshot (see http://www.tickstory.com/forum/download ... id=489&t=1).
6) Launch MT4 by pressing F8 in Tickstory. You should now be read to backtest.

Regards.

Hi
I thank you very much for the detailed help.
Which version of your software do I need to download now?
You have my credentials on file - so I suppose the newest updates are free?

So:
(1) I follow your "revert back to 910" plan.
(2) Install the newest version of your software. (Which one will be best)

That's it?

Once again - thank you very much.
A J Wiese (ReeBok)

Hi AJ,

Yes, you can get the latest update from the original download link you were sent (updates are free for at least one month, but we've extended the offer for the time being).

It is recommended to use the latest version of Tickstory v1.7.3 along with Build 910.

Regards.
