Hi,
can you explain, who is right tickdata suite or tickstory? Because i have tested in both the same settings, the same date and it was used the same FXT file for testing. Both used fixed spread, but the results were different. now the question ist whas is right^^? because with tickdata suite i have better results as with tickstory on the tested settings, but it is not useable for results, becuase it must be same to confirm the results :-(

do you have an idea?

PS: did You implemend the script from me to get the indices(cfd) better for collecting data with the tickstory ea?

Hi Antonov,

There have been a few posts on this topic with most concluding that the results were largely the same. All we can really say is that there can be a number of differences around the simulation such as if Slippage is activated in TDS. This could obviously make a significant difference depending on how your EA is coded. I would suggest you take a specific trade that is common between the two back-tests and perform some comparison between what differences there are (time of the trade, execution price, etc). This should be a good starting point to understanding why your EA is yielding different results.

Hope this helps.
P.S. Your script is still available on the forum for those who wish to use it.

ok, the settings are all same, no slippage etc.. but ok.

to the script, i thought you want implement it into the tickstory ea, that it collect ALL instruments from mt4.

Hi Antonov,

If you have a specific instance you can pin-point where the data is different then of course we will investigate. Obviously there are just too many variables when comparing EA results. Instead, a direct data comparison narrows down these variables.

With the script, we are opting for another solution to get the instrument information. Unfortunately EAs can only get a specific set of information through MQL.

Regards.
