Unable to get 99.9% quality

Hello; I'm a newbie on Tickstory but I've followed the instructions step by step with my trial version and I'm unable to form a precise opinion on this solution. In other words, I've obtained some good results (EURUSD, 90%; NZDUSD 88,5%) but other very poor results (GBPJPY and EURUSD under 10%), Dukascopy is my broker so I exclude some mapping problems or something like that. Every time I've performed a download, I've deleted every .hst and .fxt from the related directory to manage a clean situation. But the fact is that the numbers are those.
So:
1. is a problem related to trial version limit (no more than 365 days of sample);
2. is it any problem related to particular configuration I've to pay attention..?
3. other...
Thanks in advance for your opinion.
Kind regards
Bruno

Hi Bruno,
If you are getting less than 99.9% modelling quality, it means that you are not using tick data correctly. This is caused by either:
- You specifying a different MT4 terminal in Tickstory settings than the one you are testing with.
- You exporting to the incorrect server (also specified in Tickstory settings). Usually an MT4 terminal has only one server (eg. "Metatrader Demo"), so this isn't an issue. However, if you do have multiple servers listed in your MT4 login, make sure you have selected the corresponding one in the Tickstory MT4 settings.
- You have not specified your broker's symbol name in the
MT4 Export->
MT4 Settings->
Map to field.
- You have not pressed the "Launch" button in Tickstory to launch your MT4 terminal.
Our FAQ also outlines the above so please read and follow the steps carefully to resolve the issue.
Don't forget also to view our
Youtube video that shows you how to do 99.9% back-testing with MT4.
Thanks.

Thank you for your reply, but I haven't only one MT4 installation so I think is impossible to select the wrong terminal; more I have only one server and I'm using Dukascopy as broker, so the mapping possible issue I think is not in place. I've watched the video more time and I've follow exactly the instruction. I0ve launched the MT4 from the Tickstory dashboard.
Again, I've retested EURUSD obtaining 57,24%..I'm verifying the data in the history and they reflect the period I've selected ...

Hi Bruno,
Please provide the following screenshots:
1) The Tickstory "Export to MT4" settings you are using (including the "MT4 Settings" tab)
2) The MT4 Strategy Tester window (which shows the symbol name)
3) Your "MT4 Data Folder" FXT contents (go to File->Open data folder in Metatrader and then browse to tester/history and take a screenshot).
4) The 'Report' tab in the Strategy Tester (which shows the modelling quality).
5) The Strategy Tester "Journal" tab after you have completed a back-test.
Thanks.

Hi Bruno,
Thanks for the screenshots. Could you please give a screenshot of 3) after the Strategy Tester has completed its test?
From your screenshot, it doesn't appear that you have set the "Map to" field, so that is something you should do first.
Please let us know.
Thanks.

Hello and thanks again; now I've tested GBPUSD on the Daily chart and it seems the "after testing" daily data are different than "before testing" daily data. I've map the symbol despite the fact that I'm using dukascopy broker so automatically (I think..) the system should do it.
The reasons are obscure to me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Bruno,
Thanks for the further screenshots. It looks like your data is not marked read-only for some reason and it's causing the data to be overwritten. Firstly, in your MT4 Export window, please make sure you have "Make FXT read-only" checked. After that, please make sure this is the case by going to the *.fxt files in the tester/history folder and selecting them all in Windows Explorer, Right-click->Properties and then ensuring that the "Read-only" attribute is checked. Press OK to save any changes.
After that, please try your back-test again.
Thanks.

Hello; thank you for your support.
Now I've some positive news with this workaround:
1. prior the export, I've opened Mt4 and closed every chart so at the start no charts are presented; after that, I've closed MT4 to enable the right Tickstory process;
2. I've deleting the previous export (to avoid the "excess data export issue" sometimes related to the "light" version);
3. in the mT4 export tab , I've marked "read only" the export, overwriting the previous files and suppressing the volume info; more, I've mapped the pair in the requested field (despite I've Dukascopy as broker) and loaded the right Dukascopy configuration;
4. with this prerequisites, the quality is effectively 99,9% for every pair I've been selecting.
I don't know if the workaround makes sense, in particular referred to point 1; in fact the chart opened created issues, in particular when I would download the same pairs related to the "default" opened charts in MT4.
Thank you.
Kind regards
Bruno

Hi Biesse64,
We're not aware of any back-testing issue that can be caused by open charts. What we do know is that if you want to have your charts refreshed after the export, you may need to restart MT4. The only issue you seemed to have is that the files were not marked as read-only which causes the < 99.9% modelling quality issue (i.e. MT4 overwrites the exported data and uses its own causing lesser quality).
Hope this helps.
