Hi tickstory support,
I am trying to look for a solution to my problem and just want to check if tickstory can be used in my situation.
I have an indicator on mt4 that needs accurate 1 min data, and when i donwload frm the mt4 histroy center, sometimes there area random days missing or random hours of data missing. This only seems to be an issue for history and not live data, So If i download tickdata for any historical prices, and then use the live broker prices in real time to view my indicator, will that work?
The last 3 months data needs to be accurate for the indicator to show properly, so that is why history needs to be there
so is this possible to do or can tickdata not be used in conjunction with live prices (for current price going forward)?
thanks
K

Hi Kkaushal,
Tickstory is typically used to produce an offline version of MT4 data for back-testing purposes. Outside of this realm, it is difficult to make any suggestions (or troubleshoot) what might work for your situation now and in the future. In theory, MT4 should merely append to the existing historical data which means your EAs should work but there could be exceptions. I would suggest that you try it out and see how works for you and let us know how you go - other users may be able to pitch in with their own experience and any caveats they have come across.
Regards.

Hello,
I have a question...
The historical data from you is awesome, and actually hope to use live data in live account now.
Is there any easy way to get the live data in live account?

Hi Davidoh,
Are you referring to real-time data where you see updates tick-by-tick? Or are you referring to exporting historical data to your live account?
In the first case, real-time data is something we are working on. In the second, it is possible to export historical data to your live MT4 account, however there is a possibility that MT4 overwrites this data when it attempts to back-fill. The best bet is to give it a try and see if you get the results you want.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.
I have been wondering the time when it will be possible to use live data in real time - "in the first case" in your sentence (Are you referring to real-time data where you see updates tick-by-tick?)

Hi Davidoh,
That's correct - tick-by-tick data in real-time is something that we are working on although we currently don't have a time-frame for a release. You can however keep track of the latest happenings by subscribing to us on Facebook or Twitter.
Hope this helps.

Hi Davidoh,
Perhaps you can detail some of your requirements in the "Suggestions" section. Details such as what platform you are using and any other useful information is always helpful. The more feedback we get from users, the more we can try accommodate everyone's requirements in the final version (and yes, we do try listen to all the feedback we get.. we just need the time to get it all done!)
Regards.
