I have exported data,and I have the mt settings correct, my mt terminal is not connected to a server. When I start a backtest, it finds the actual tick file,(.fxt), but then gives and error: no data for testing. There are .hst files in the broker folder, and in the mt4 history center the files show up under all the time frames. My mt4 is version 4, build 765. I also have purchased the tick data suite.
The .fxt files are large, about 9 gigs each, is this the problem?

Yes, MT4 has a file-size limitation descibed here in our FAQ:

I'm not sure if TDS works around this limitation but I'm sure Birt would assist you further on this point.

Thanks, Birt did help, his answer was to make sure the "Use date" box is not checked, that fixed the problem!

Thanks for getting back, Stephen. Does this mean you were able to back-test the entire 9gb range successfully?

Does it helped you? I guess the testing box should have some data error in the beginning. I guess you should re start it.
