Please refer to the screenshot that you can choose another symbol by this list.
However I found I couldn't use it to download and export the data of the symbol selected.
Then I'm confused what is the function used for. When and why to change the symbol as I didn't find any change by it?

Hi,

The list of symbols is provided so you can specify the settings (eg. spread) of each symbol prior to export. This is of particular use when you have selected multiple symbols for export in the main screen. If you have selected say AUDCAD & EURUSD for export, you can select each from the drop-down and tailor their specific information. You can subsequently save the settings as default if you like so the next time you export it will use the same settings.
