thanks for your reply! i realised the problem lies with dukascopy. for some reason i couldn't get data from mid 2003. this worked out for me now as i was ok with the shorter period, but i still haven't figured out why this data was unavailable...

reporting that I have a similar issue on windows 7 professional. purchased the tick story v. 1.6. as i thought this would solve it but it unfortunately did not... looking forward to a resolution of this issue.
