Hello all,
I'm fairly new to this so I'm still coming up to speed with Tickstory. I'm finally backtesting with data exported from Tickstory but I can only get the backtester to work in "every tick" mode. This is not all bad since it is the most accurate but I'd like to be able to test in the "control points" mode for faster testing. Is there any other way to speed up the backtesting?
How can I speed up backtesting?
Re: How can I speed up backtesting?
Hi Harvdog42,
The whole advantage of using the 'every-tick' mode of course is that it allows you to perform tick-accurate back-tests. This is inherently slow, however one way you could speed things up is filter duplicate ticks if your strategy is not dependent on individual ticks. Hopefully some other users might be able to suggest some ways they speed things up, otherwise I would suggest you follow some of the threads in the MT4 back-testing forums.
Hope this helps.

OK Tickstory,
Thanks for prompt response. One fairly obvious thing I was overlooking is to have the speed "slider" all the way forward. That increases backtesting speed substantially.
Cheers,
