"GOLD" vs "XAUUSD"
Hello, my broker calls it "GOLD" whereas TickStory calls it "XAUUSD". I am assuming that these are just different names for the same instrument. Is there a way that I'm able to test your XAUUSD data? XAUUSD doesn't come up in the market watch list. GOLD is not updated. I tried re-naming the XAUUSD files to GOLD, but got some very extreme results in the tester.
Re: "GOLD" vs "XAUUSD"
Hi Colin,
When exporting from Tickstory (eg. XAUUSD), you should select your corresponding broker's symbol (eg. GOLD) in the MT4 Settings->Map To drop-down box. This will ensure that the data gets correctly "mapped" to your broker's symbol. You can refer to the manual for more information.
Thanks.
P.S. We have moved your post to the "General" category as this is where you should post if you need assistance. The "Back-test" category is intended as a general discussion for traders to share their back-test results.
